This retreat is special. It’s two journeys rolled into one: an outward pilgrimage to seven shrines in Egypt’s most sacred landscapes and an inward voyage of the spirit. Plus, Tinolla will join Brett for the first time as co-facilitator, pairing feminine wisdom with Brett’s “Golden Inner Temple Teachings”.
Together, they’ll guide you to awaken your senses within these awe-inspiring monuments, deepen your connection to your inner temple and find renewal in the cradle of Egypt’s ancient wisdom.
Once reborn into the world of the senses, life will never look, taste or feel the same.
EnquireExplore your itinerary and start imagining your journey to dreaming bigger, sensing more intensely and living more fully.

Hotelier Tinolla Rodgers’ life took an unexpected turn when, just five months into her marriage, her husband was diagnosed with two types of cancer. This life-altering moment ignited a deep curiosity about the human body: what allows it to thrive and what leads to its breakdown in the form of disease?
Relentless research and travel led her to one undeniable truth – healing is profoundly connected to nature. As the guardian of a natural sanctuary in the heart of the world’s largest wildlife conservation area, she discovered its immense power in facilitating deep connection, releasing trauma and addressing the psychosomatic roots of illness.
Now a certified ThetaHealing® Practitioner and Forest Bathing Coach, Tinolla merges her hospitality expertise with holistic healing. She holds sacred space for those seeking transformation, guiding them toward subtle yet powerful shifts through the wisdom of Mother Earth.
In the past two decades, Mahmoud Marai has traversed over 300,000 km, crossing the Western Desert, the Great Sahara, and even the ancient Forty Days Road from Darfur to Aswan. Aside from discovering previously unexplored prehistoric sites and cementing his reputation as both an adventurer and a scholar, his expeditions have earned him the moniker “Egypt’s last great explorer”.
As a published author and cultural ambassador, Mahmoud infuses his profound knowledge of Egypt’s geography, archaeology and sacred landscapes with a deep reverence for the spiritual imprint left by ancient civilisations. A born storyteller, he brings the country’s mysteries to life in ways that few others can.
For this retreat, Mahmoud serves not just as guide, but also as host – leading the journey from the banks of the Nile to the depths of the White Desert. With his intimate knowledge of hidden temples, sacred sites and desert life, he ensures that every step is both logistically seamless and spiritually profound. Guests will not only see Egypt through his eyes but feel it in their souls, as he shares the awe, beauty and timeless wisdom of this ancient land.
No. The Discover the Temple Within retreat is non-denominational and inclusive of all belief systems. Practices are drawn from universal wisdom traditions, nature-based teachings and modern psychology.
Egypt’s north, including Cairo, experiences mild, cool temperatures in January. The weather is warmer in the south but nights and early mornings are chilly, especially in inland desert areas and on the Nile, so packing layers is recommended. As the day warms up, you’ll need hats, sunglasses and sunblock, especially when visiting the temples. And don’t forget to pack a swimming costume or trunks to cool off with a dip in the Nile.
Yes, throughout the retreat, there will be time for personal reflection, particularly during meditation sessions, sailing the Nile, and in moments of stillness within the desert or temples. You’re encouraged to use this time to connect with your inner self and integrate your experiences.
